A Visit To Canada

We went on a spur of the moment trip to Canada a couple weeks ago.

We went for Belle Smith's funeral and to see Grandpa. I am so glad to have been able to see him and give him lots of kisses and love. I miss him so much!

The funeral was well attended and it was fun to see and visit with so many people. We stuck around the cemetary walking around looking at head stones. It was surprising to see so many names I recognized from Geneology records. Doug had fun taking pics of them. We forgot our camera, but used his black berry to take the pics. Seems the pics of the head stones turned out better than the ones of the people! We also stuck around at the luncheon a long time too. We didn't get back to Diana's until around 4pm where we visited some more!!

Grandpa is still at the Grand View in Cardston. Diana went to get him for the funeral and then brought him back to the house afterwards. We got to sit with him and just love on him for a few short hours. He's spends a lot of time strapped in a wheel chair these days because he's not steady on his feet and kept falling. He tries to be an escape artist, so they have to keep a good eye on him to keep him safe!

It was a quick but great trip!

Grandpa Update

I thought I should post an update for Grandpa as to where he is...

He had a little accident while visiting Cardston. He was riding a horse and the horse got spooked and did a 180 and Grandpa fell off. He hit his head, but seems to be fine. He's okay, but is now staying at the Grand View in Cardston. He just seems to need a lot of care, so for now, that's where he'll be staying.

He doesn't have a phone, fax machine, or email capabilities. We are back to snail mail. We went to the post office today and found out to mail a letter to Canada is only 75 cents!

You can write to him at...

PO Box 1618
Cardston, Alberta
Canada T0K0K0

I'm sure he would really appreciate it if we all let him know that we are thinking about him and love him!!

Forsyth Party in Bountiful!

We had the best time last week, not only did we enjoy a fantastic general conference, but we had a wonderful family get together afterwards.

Brent and Karen and their family came down from Canada, and Merlin, Delores & Holly came down from Spokane. Holly just barely got home from her mission, and Stephanie is headed tothe MTC!

Sooooo.... we did the only logical thing we could think of ...invite all the rest of the Forsyth's and have a party!!

I called Carolyn and she made most of the rest of the phone calls and everyone pitched in and brought food, It was great! We just had dinner and visited with everyone. I was amazed at how many kids and people we had here, and how pleasant it was. The kids all seemed to get along just wonderful! It was so sad when the time came for everyone to leave.

Here are some pics.... For ease in loading so many I didn't put them in order (they are more likely in backwards order!) and didn't name anyone. If you want any of the family ones and need them to be a better resolution for printing, let me know and I can email you the original. I think we got some great pics!!! Enjoy!!!

We couldn't believe how well it came off and we only came up with the idea and executed it in 2 days. My only regret was that I neglected to invite Sara & Jim, I'm pretty sure they are in Logan somewhere, it's kind of far, but they might have made the trip had I just remembered to ask. Sorry Sara, I was thinking of you, just a little too late!

Family Pics

Sorry I guess I lost track of what I was doing, I'm not quite finished yet with Grandpa's Birthday Bash. Here are some of the traditional family pics we seem to always take when we get together!

Grandpa and the kids

Grandkids

Diana & Ron's Family

Brent & Karen's Family

Doug & Donna's Family

Jordan & Leann. Where is Merlin & Delores??? Did we miss it??

Here's some fun ....

Grandpa sure loves kisses!!! I'm not much of a mouth kisser, but for some I make an exception. Grandpa would be one of those exceptions! We were trying to get one on camera and we kept missing the shot. So by the time we were done Grandpa was pretty giddy!!
